Two join staff at Milburn’s
Dave Keppen and Josh Lyttle recently joined the staff of Milburn HealthMart Pharmacy and Home Health Center. Keppen joined the staff in June as Durable Medical Equipment manager. The Sullivan resident has worked in the medical field for 16 years. He is in charge of delivery home medical equipment, making sure it is operating correctly and ensuring the customer knows how to operate the equipment correctly. "I’m here to make sure the customer’s happy and to make them comfortable in their own homes," Keppen said. Lyttle, also of Sullivan, joined the staff in July as Keppen’s assistant. He also is responsible for customer care and comfort. "This is the kind of job that makes you feel good, knowing you’ve helped someone," he said. "It’s gratifying to help someone in their time of need." Milburn’s is the county’s only locally owned and operated pharmacy and sole supplier of home medical equipment. It has been a fixture on the south side of the Sullivan square since 1928. The pharmacy is located at 13 W. Jackson St., while the Home Health Center is directly behind the pharmacy, at 120 S. Main St. For more information, call 268-4737 or (800) 331-5646.
Stop smoking for free during the month of JuneThe Sullivan County Board of Health is providing funding that allows us to offer our smoking cessation classes at no cost for anyone who begins the program during the month of June. Grand opening a big success Our Thursday, May 1 HealthMart grand opening was tremendous success. We had more than 450 people sign up for the grand prize drawing, a Nintendo Wii. The winner was Tom Vickery. We served more than 500 hamburgers and hot dogs that day. All in all, the day was a great success, which we owe all to you, our loyal customers. Below are some scenes from that special day.
Dear past, present, and future customers,
I would like to personally invite you to join us May 1st to celebrate our Health Mart grand opening. We have several reasons to celebrate and much to be thankful for. First, we are celebrating 80 years of business. We are grateful for the generations of support the pharmacy has received to enable us to remain a fixture on the downtown square for so many years. We are proud to have survived the many changes and challenges the profession has faced, but know it is the patronage of so many in the county which has helped us meet and overcome these challenges.
We are also very excited to join Health Mart, a franchise of independent pharmacies. Like the Rexall franchise we were affiliated with years ago, becoming a Health Mart pharmacy will position us to offer more services and compete in the changing marketplace. It provides a national identity that insurance companies recognize and will contract with. If you’ve been to the pharmacy lately, you’ve noticed many changes. We have installed a new awning and remodeled the front of the pharmacy. Two things have not changed. One is ownership. We are still locally owned by John and Ed. The other is our focus—you and your health. Caring, personal service is still our mission. We have lots of free food and giveaways scheduled for May 1st, so please come join us for the fun and check out our new look. We look forward to seeing you. "Caring for you and about you." Ed Walker and John Williams Join us May 1 for our HealthMart grand opening! Free hot dogs and hamburgers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Grand-prize drawing at 6 p.m. for a Nintendo Wii NEW MENS DIABETIC SHOES COMING IN JANUARY 2008! NEW WOMENS DIABETIC SHOES COMING IN JANUARY 2008!
Milburn Pharmacy is proud to announce its affiliation with the Health Mart family of independent pharmacies. With more than 1,600 pharmacies nationwide, Health Mart offers a solution for brand power for consumer recognition, competitive pricing and a voice concerning public policies pertaining to pharmacy practice. What does this all mean to you, our valued customers? Very little. Milburn Pharmacy will remain locally owned and operated and continue to provide personal care and quality service and community commitment. We still will offer home delivery, a large selection of home health care products, respiratory equipment, 24-hour emergency services and a smoking cessation program. We will continue to offer our Resource Center to serve those needing assistance in our community. Milburn Pharmacy, your hometown pharmacy.
